To
a lover of illusions,
D. L. "Rusty" Rust is a champion. Wildlife
artist Rusty Rust is a premiere American painter and producer of a rich
variety of realistic natural and portrait art. His wonderful technique
and style add up to an obvious love of subject. He now captures the hearts
of illusion junkies with his many paintings of wonderfully realized
camouflage themes, hidden objects, and works of exquisite ambiguity.

The world at large
is in love with Rust's portraits. Jae S. Kelly, Emmett Kelly Jr's
youngest daughter has said of Rust's work, "I have to say
that of everyone who has done portraits of EK and EKJ (myself included)
Mr. Rust has done the best in capturing the real clown inside the
man as well as out. You are truly a gifted artist!"
It is Rusty's optical
illusion themes that most captivate our interest. Take the following
wildlife painting as an example. This one is called The Hidden Tiger.
The sheer beauty and details of Tiger and habitat are unparalleled.
The name spells it out. There is a hidden Tiger somewhere in the painting.
It is not easy to find, but once found, is hard to ignore. Click on

For rustic charm
and ambiguity it's hard to beat this next example called Dreams.
Part of the dilapidated old barn can be seen as something all together
different if you look at this painting in just the right way. Can
you find the hidden ambiguity? Click on the image to see a larger
view. Need a hint, or
an answer?

This next painting,
which depicts African culture in vibrant color, is called Ten Friends.
Count the number of people in the painting. How many are there?
Who is missing? Can you find the missing "friend?" Click
on the image to see a larger view. Need a hint,
or an answer?
